The Directorate of Animal Husbandry is located on the 6th floor of Vikas Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram. Directorate of Animal Husbandry coordinates all veterinary and animal husbandry activities of the State. The overall technical, administrative, and financial control of the Directorate is vested in the Director, who is supported by a team of two Additional Directors, a Senior Administrative Officer, a Senior Finance Officer, three Joint Directors, six Deputy Directors, and five Assistant Directors.

The major technical wings of the Directorate include Veterinary Services and Animal Health, Planning, Livestock Production, Poultry, and Animal Husbandry Statistics. The administrative wing oversees general administration and establishment-related matters. IT Division of the department manages the digital transformation initiatives of the department.
